About Carolyn:

Carolyn (pronouns: she/her) moved to Western North Carolina after hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1995, planning to spend 6 months. More than 25 years later, she’s still here. She’s worked in the disability community in a variety of roles since 1997, including more than 15 years with the TEACCH Autism Program. A graduate of UNC School of the Arts, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the UNCA Master of Liberal Arts program, she also has an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. (Link to CV.)

About Katie:

Katie uses she/her pronouns. As the Accessibility Specialist, Katie works closely with students and faculty to coordinate testing, note taking, and assistive technology accommodations. Katie graduated from the City University of New York, School of Professional Studies in 2019 with an M.A. in Disability Studies. Katie also holds an M.A. in English from Radford University (Va). In her spare time, Katie volunteers as a field associate with the Anabaptist Disabilities Network, which connects individuals to disability-related resources.
