Available NOW: Otter.ai
Otter is a voice-to-text technology that provides automatically-generated captions and transcriptions for spoken word (whether conversational or lectures.) Otter syncs easily with Zoom, but can also be used in Google Meet, in-person meetings, or anyplace that captioning may be useful. UNCA has a limited number of licenses available for qualified students.
Coming SOON: Zoom captioning
On January 31, UNC Asheville will have access to auto captioning for all Zoom lectures. This will be widely available to students (as well as faculty and staff). More information regarding accessing this accommodation will be made available as we learn more.
